An Investigation of the Relationship Between School Failure and At-Risk Students’ General Self-Efficacy, Academic Self-Efficacy, and Motivation

 

Develop an intelligence brief which addresses the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information on the Boston Marathon Terror Attack (Bombings) of 2013. Your briefing to the media and to the general public should occur right soon after the attack.

Look at the exercise from the perspective that the attack just occurred and the American Public and citizens of the Boston area are very concerned about their safety and there has been loss of life and the terrorists who are still responsible are still at large.

Your briefing should include but not limited to providing the general public needed information on what happened, casualties, injuries, any investigative results, intelligence (collection, analysis, dissemination),who to contact if you have any suspects and provide a sense to calm everyone down. Be careful not to disclose sensitive or confidential information concerning suspects or investigative techniques.

The intelligence briefing more specifically should be 40-60 pages, using the APA (sixth edition) format.

As part of your briefing highlight:

The who, what, where, when and how it happened.

Other information to consider including:

Lead agency, police patrols, police engagement, police reconnaissance, surveillance, and assessments, criminal investigations, collected evidence including biometric data and forensic evidence, and data mining, database queries, and use of fusion centers.

Communications (if any), targets, threats, pattern(s), functional, financial, terrain and geographic distribution, infrastructure and other civil considerations, and predictive analysis.

Include a discussion of protective measures for the general public.

Develop and articulate a dissemination plan of information/intelligence. Assume you are in a major metropolitan city with a fusion center. The public and media will want frequent briefings and you want to advise them of dates, times, and locations of upcoming briefings.
