Human Resource Management

1. The Assignment will carry 20 marks.
2. As you are aware, Human Resource Management performs five important functions, namely, Staffing,HR Development, Compensation, Safety and Health, Employee and Labor relations.
3. You may prepare a brief report, about 10 pages, on the practice of the above functions in the organization in which you are working or in any organization of your choice in the UAE. It may be a bank, financial institution, hospital, educational institution, Government department or any institution in which the Human Resource Department exists.
4. The report may cover either all the above functions or any one or two functions of the Human Resource Management. Preferably, your report may focus on any one or more functions given below:
i). Human resource planning process
ii) Recruitment, Selection, and Induction
iii) Training Programs for workers and managers. Identification of the need for training programs. Evaluation of the Training Programs
iv) Systems of performance appraisal of employees
v) Systems of payment of wages and salaries for the employees
vi) Methods for the settlement of disputes and the redressal of the
grievances between labor and management
vii) Any other topic related to the Human Resource function in an
organization
5. After you select the topic, you may collect the data about it. If required, you may talk to a few officials in order to understand the actual working of the Human Resource function.
6. Your report may throw light on the practice of the Human Resource function, under your study, including its strengths and weaknesses.
