For this assignment you will write a two page, typed essay comparing and contrasting the Native Americans encountered by Columbus on the islands of the Caribbean with those encountered by Cortés in Mexico. Please use only the primary source readings listed below. The point of this assignment is for y’all to see the New World from the eyes of the explorers and Natives who lived during that time!

6. How did the Native Americans treat the newly-arrived Spanish? Is there evidence of animosity between the two groups?
