You are required to write a paper on a topic of relevance to the module using the Guidelines for Systematic review.

Your review should address ONE of the questions (a or b) below that relate to topics to be addressed in semester 2 of the module.

a) Does the adoption of environmental management systems lead to better environmental performance in companies and organisations?

b) Do corporate sustainability practices provide “added value” for companies and organisations?

In your paper you should address the following:

• State your research question and outline your strategy for collecting evidence following the guidance on devising a protocol for systematic review (see Figure 2 of CEE, 2013)

• Briefly discuss the relationship between corporate behaviour and the management concepts relevant to your question

• Critically assess the extent to which your question is supported by the evidence

The paper should include an introduction and conclusion and follow a logical structure. You are encouraged to make use of figures and tables where appropriate to communicate your ideas. Rather than writing extensive paragraphs to explain an idea, it can be more effective to develop a diagram to explain something and then support this with a shorter section of text. This can help you to ensure that you do not exceed the word limit and allows you to demonstrate competency in using information technology for effective communication.
